Kami Identity

In many ways religion and corporate identity ask the same questions: Who are we? What do we believe in? Where are we going? What are our values? How do we want to be seen and treated by others? etc. With my students I am working on identities without logos and different ways of thinking about identity. One way of doing this is to adopt the mind frame of a different religion, one that is less focussed on a central truth represented by iconic symbols. In this course we looked at Shinto, a Japanese nature religion which believes in spirits (Kami). This course could also have been called 'beyond dynamic identities'. More thoughts on the subject here.
